Dora's journey began well before she came into this World – Her Mother (a fabulous cook) was a Fashion Designer in Greece, educated at the Masourithi College in Kalamata and came to Australia in the early 60s.
Dora's Father a farmer, beekeeper and airline finisher, was trained on the cutting room floor and became a production manager. Together they joined forces and started a business in the early 70s called “Athas Fashions” manufacturing for Jag, Portmans and Taking Shape – they are now both retired.
Early one morning in Jan 1987, Dora could no longer contain her ambition to join the World of Fashion, so resigned her position as a short term money market dealer and superfund trades co-ordinator.
Quickly snapped up by Rob Palmer (who with Adele Palmer created Jag) Dora was entrusted with a position as his export executive, managing the factoring company dealings for the business between Australia Jag and Palmer & Palmer NEW YORK. Dora was destined to fall in love with FASHION.
On returning to Australia, Dora embarked on an illustrious and impressive career in top positions with high-profile companies until 2011 when the urge to create her own brand became irrepressible – thus TheoDora Black Co. was born.
